Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over

Dec 11

The holiday season is a time to reflect on the year that's coming to a close, enjoy the company of family and friends, and be grateful for the blessings no matter how big or small. It also is a busy time, shopping for gifts, attending holiday parties, and more.

Remember to celebrate safely this season. Drunk driving is illegal and deadly. Even a small amount of alcohol can affect driving ability. In New Jersey, it is illegal to drive with a BAC of .08 g/dL or higher.

Drivers will see more law enforcement on the road as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over high visibility enforcement campaign. Law enforcement will be expanding their efforts with zero tolerance for impaired driving. The goal is to save lives.

Always drive 100% sober – even one alcoholic beverage could be one too many. Plan ahead: Before you have even one drink, designate a sober drive to get you home safely. If you wait until you've been drinking to make that decision, you might not make the best one. There are always options to get home safely: designate a sober drive or call a taxi or rideshare. Getting home safely is always worth it.
